Victorian Visions is inspired by the quiet intensity of early photography, especially Julia Margaret Cameron’s intimate approach. The series centres on faces that appear both familiar and distant, exploring memory, absence, and the unseen. These works reimagine historical portraiture as emotional landscapes rather than records of real individuals. Faces emerge and dissolve through soft layers of ink, revealing vulnerability and interior life beneath composed façades, inviting a quiet reflection on presence, time, and the echoes of past lives.
